A Research to Know the Personality (Extrovert/Introvert) of Engineering Sports Students in Relation to Socio-Economic Status of Their Families

The study examined the relationship between the socioeconomic status of athletes and the personality(Extrovert/Introvert). One hundred and fifteen (115) athletes were randomly selected from various engineering schools affiliated to Punjab Technical University. The main objective of the study was to know the personality (Extrovert/Introvert) of Engineering Sports Students in relation to Socio-Economic Status of their Families: Eysenck Personality Inventory test and the socio-economic status scale of Rajbir Singh, Radhey Shyam and Satish Kumar was used to measure their socio-economic status. Conclusion: According to chi-square analysis and correlation coefficient study by Karl Pearson, there is no significant difference between Personality (Extrovert/Introvert) relationship and socio-economic status of cricket, football, Handball and hockey athletes of engineering colleges affiliated to Punjab University of Technology. A significant association was determined at a threshold of .05.
