Ethical Considerations in AI For Product and Marketing: A Critical Review of Privacy, Bias, and Employment Challenges
Downloads
This review paper explores the multifaceted ethical considerations associated with the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in product development and marketing, focusing on three main areas: privacy, bias, and employment challenges. Through a critical analysis of existing literature and case studies, the paper highlights the privacy paradox that emerges from the tension between personalization and privacy concerns, the pervasive issue of bias within AI algorithms, and the profound impact of AI on employment dynamics, including job displacement and the transformation of skill requirements. It underscores the complexity of navigating these ethical dilemmas, emphasizing the importance of implementing robust privacy protection measures, strategies for mitigating bias, and ethical frameworks for managing workforce transitions. The review further discusses the implications of these ethical considerations for industry professionals, policymakers, and educators and calls for a collaborative effort to address these challenges. Recommendations for future research include a deeper investigation into the long-term effects of AI on societal structures, the development of more advanced methods for detecting and correcting bias in AI systems, and the exploration of innovative educational models to prepare the workforce for a future intertwined with AI technology. The paper concludes by reflecting on the importance of ethical considerations in leveraging AI's potential to ensure that its benefits are realized in a manner that is both responsible and sustainable.
