AI-Driven Student Support in GCC Higher Education
Downloads
Higher education institutions continue to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their different sectors of operation. The implementation of AI in academic advising helps universities worldwide, including institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, to improve educational experiences while supporting students and administrative efficiency in educational institutions. This paper explores how leading institutions in the GCC region have begun using AI-driven advising tools, the pros and cons of these technologies and how they may affect tutors, students and universities. It also highlights how AI can solve the typical advising inefficiencies of incorrect course selection, miscalculated GPAs, and manual mistakes that lead to at-risk students.
