The aim of this paper is to review of the analysis and simulation of integrating an off-grid hybrid power system to a distribution network in oil producing rural area of Nigeria. The study analyzes existing literature on the integration of gas generators, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and energy storage technologies for rural electrification. By examining the specific case of Uzere, an oil-producing rural community in Delta State, Nigeria, this review highlights the technical and economic challenges involved in hybrid system deployment. It also explores recent advancements in energy management and optimization tools, such as HOMER Pro, to simulate hybrid solutions tailored to rural needs. This review offers insights into sustainable and cost-effective solutions for rural electrification in similar regions.
